Capital Grant Request Prioritization

Based on a 2009 statute, the Board of State History will now review independent applications for financial assistance on capital projects that are somehow related to history or prehistory or historical preservation. The Board will then rank the applications based on the goals of the applicant, the public benefit of the proposed project, and the strategic value of the project's partnerships.

Prioritization of an application is no guarantee of funding. The Legislature will decide which projects to fund. However, applying through this process gives you the opportunity to have your project validated by subject matter experts or at least professionally reviewed. This information will be provided to the Governor's Office and Legislative Fiscal Analysts, who will prepare recommendations for the Legislature.

The deadline for these requests is June 1 for the upcoming Utah Legislative Session (i.e., June 1, 2013 for the 2014 Legislative Session).
